Association for the Promotion of the German Lock and Fittings Museum e.V.
In 1956, representatives of the Velbert lock and fittings industry founded the Förderungsgemeinschaft des Deutschen Schloss- und Beschlägemuseums e.V. (Association for the Promotion of the German Lock and Fittings Museum).
The aim of the association is to acquire exhibits that will be made available to the museum on permanent loan. Since the foundation of the association, the Förderungsgemeinschaft has succeeded in assembling an outstanding collection consisting of more than 4,000 individual objects. Many of the particularly precious museum pieces could not have been purchased without the support of the Förderungsgemeinschaft.
Die Förderungsgemeinschaft freut sich über neue Mitglieder. Der jährliche Mitgliedsbeitrag beträgt für Einzelpersonen 20,00 € und für Firmen 100,00€.

Foundation for the Promotion of the German Lock and Fittings Museum
With the establishment of the Foundation for the Promotion of the German Lock and Fittings Museum, the Förderungsgemeinschaft des DeutschenSchloss- und Beschlägemuseums e.V. contributed its entire collection to the foundation's assets.
The foundation was established together with RWE Rhein-Ruhr AG and offers completely new possibilities in the promotion of research and information on the subject of locking and security technology.
