In addition to around 70,000 exhibits, the DSBM also has an extensive specialist library and a unique collection of historical catalogues, patent specifications and archives. This makes the museum a contact point for everyone who wants to learn something about keys, locks and fittings: Private treasure chest owners, historians, museums, engineers and prop makers are welcome to contact us with questions and suggestions!
The museum's collection is constantly growing with the help of donations of historical objects, among other things. If you are considering making a donation to the museum, please contact us in advance by e-mail at museum@velbert.de and send us meaningful images of the objects in question. In this way, we would like to save you unnecessary travel and shipping costs.
